Uni has me snowed under, so no telling if I ever update regularly. I haven’t been taking daily outfit photos, I want to get back into film photography (I used to develop my own b/w stuff.)

I recently received my coveted bag, a Maxine from Minna Parikka:

Besides that, I have tonnes of new things to photograph and ensemble-ize, but I can’t find time.
I also wrote my first short screenplay for class; besides getting one of the only A+’s the prof. has given out in 10 years, I am really really proud of it. I might have to have a side-gig!

I’m also obsessed with molding film soundtracks; on my list of must-haves for a film I create:

Hopefully it won’t be another month before I post again.

Summer keeps sweltering on, my car is still out of commission, and I have had no time to create a decent post. In the near future, I plan to write about: biking/my bicycle, a library photoshoot I have yet to take (must do this Saturday, before classes start and pesky students come back in droves!) fall (which is so far away for us Southerners), and hopefully figure out how to create lovely collages like some of my favourite bloggers (particularly Casey, Aya and Rhiannon!) 

So instead, another outfit, wherein my hair decided to be amazing.

This dress is amazing; light, breezy crepe with the best pleated detailing on the chest and back and rhinestone buttons! The wedges are another great ebay find, brand new Hale Bob ones for a steal (16$ including shipping!)

Though this corner of my bedroom is really the only decent area in the apartment to photograph full-length ensemble photos, I want to create more dynamic shots, taking advantage of light and interesting features. This shall have to wait, though!

My car decided to die (alternator, most likely.) So to fill space with photos instead of content, here are a couple recent ensembles, one prior to car death, one on the day of.

I have an hour to kill before I must head downstairs to the circulation desk to begin my shift, so I hope this post will be followed in a day or so with another, more interesting one!

I truly want to keep this blog going this time. I just get very frustrated/disappointed in myself, because I am so inept and feel like no one would ever want to read my posts! I know everyone must start somewhere, but it seems like I need to just jump in and make my mark on th’ online fashion blogging community, because it really does mean a lot to me.

Maybe this time I will actually post regularly. I stopped abruptly after I moved and stopped spending as much time online as I used to. But I’d like to have a fashion/film blog, I think, since it occupies so much of my time and thoughts.

I keep delaying the start of my vintage etsy shop, because uni is a huge burden this semester. I am taking 15 credit hours/5 courses, and working 25+ hour work weeks at the library. I am planning to work on picture taking and uploading next weekend, since I finally have Saturday mornings off!

My Halloween ensemble, to be worn at a later date in some form, I am sure:

The dress is the most perfect thing I own, possibly; 1920s gauzy cotton muslin, with silk and eyelet trims. I was a splicer from the video game Bioshock. I obviously refrained from carrying a butcher knife around parties.

Currently reading: Assata: An Autobiography by Assata Shakur; she was a strong member of the Black Panthers, convicted of killing a NJ state trooper in the 1970s, though medical & forensic evidence pointed to the contrary. Her prose is very crisp and different from what I normally read. You may know her as the aunt of Tupac!

Last film watched: Lust, Caution – finally got to see it! Tony Leung is so creepy in it, but was it beautiful.

Hopefully I will update again this week, instead of next year.

Most recent film watched: Sholay, for Bollywood class. It has an armless man kicking a bandit TO DEATH with spiked shoes!

Currently reading: Ice-Candy-Man by Bapsi Sidhwa; Maximum City by Suketu Mehta. Both for pleasure, though Bollywood class has pushed me towards them. Also in the middle of a countless number of non-fiction books and poetry from th library that I haven’t touched in months. In my paper journal I keep lists of all the books I read for th year, and I am way behind [last year I finished 34 books, this year I only just completed my fifth so far!]

Sunday was my long-time [nearly 6 years!] amour’s birthday.

My rocking horse shoes were a hit about town. “They’re like reverse high heels!”

That dress is quite strong for being nearly 80 years old, although the lace rips whenever I wear it. I like the decaying quality of very old garments.

I’m going to try to be less self-conscious when it comes to ensemble documentation and posing. Also, I am COMPLETELY inept at layouts and html of all sorts, so everything will look dodgy until I get th hang of it.
